About Julie
I've always loved to be creative from an early age and especially enjoy painting portraits. What I really love about portraits is that special moment when I'm able to capture the true beauty and individual character of an animal or person - for me that is when the 'magic' happens! I work in many different mediums, just as happy working in oils, acrylics, watercolour or pencil dependent on what kind of image I've been commissioned to create.
I get inspired by a wide variety of subjects and also hand paint ceramics, which have been used in kitchens & bathrooms in both residential & commercial interiors around the world. Over the years I have worked on commissions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Liberty of London, Conran shop & The Royal Academy. I’ve designed ceramic tile collections and interiors for high end Architects and been commissioned to create many portraits.
I'm a qualified Art teacher however I see myself more as an 'Art facilitator'. From time to time I run online group sessions and offer 1:1 appointments from my studio. I’ve taught students of all ages, from 8 years old to my eldest student being 86. My aim is to always help you learn to paint and draw confidently so you can discover your true inner artist.
Most of my work is created in my garden studio
